Don't ask me why I am here || Acharya Prashant, with youth (2013)

Question: Sir,why are you here?

Acharya Prashant: I am here to help you understand that you are here and when you understand that you are here, and what you are and what ‘here’ means, then you will also understand instantaneously that why I am here. There are many present here, who have been able to see a thing about themselves. There are many present here who have been able to understand a little bit about themselves, about their own mind. Are there people here who have been able to understand their own minds?

Listeners: Yes, Sir.

AP: Now when you understand your own mind, then only you will able to understand the rest of the world also.

L: Sir, so you are here to help us?

AP : Do not be bothered about what this HIDP course is all about, how it was designed, from where it came. It is like asking there is a man who cannot see, and he says treat me only after I can see all the equipment that you will use to treat me. Will he ever be treated?

Or a doctor who gives prescription to a blind man and says, ‘*Now read it yourself and buy all these medicines!*‘

Be concerned with the effect that you are undergoing. Be concerned with what you are getting. Had you really been capable of understanding, you would have understood right now! And if you are not understanding, then your obligation is to go within, rather than going out.

I am external. I am here only to push you internally, and when go internally, you will understand everything external, including me. So if you are still asking a question that why I am here and who I am, then that’s a clear indication that you must go within because you are still obsessed with the outside, the external.
