What is Operation 2030?

Scientists warn that if we fail to limit global warming to 1.5°C by 2030, the world will face irreversible damage as several vicious feedback cycle will get activated — melting glaciers, rising seas, and collapsing ecosystems.

After nearly a decade of addressing the climate crisis, Acharya Prashant formally launched Operation 2030 in 2025 as a dedicated mission to act on the UN’s climate deadline.

Operation 2030 rests on a simple fact: the outer climate mirrors the inner one. When the mind is restless and greedy, it shows up as collapsing ecosystems. Real change begins when one looks within — at decisions about family, food, and consumption.

Acharya Prashant speaking into a microphone with his hand extended
The climate crisis is a spiritual crisis. Vedantic wisdom teaches that the world we see reflects our state of being. If we are restless inside, our actions will be restless too. When we feel empty, we try to fill that inner void by taking more from the world. This gives rise to overconsumption, pollution, and disregard for all life. The climate crisis, then, is not separate from us. It is not a problem happening “out there.” It begins with how we live, how we think, and what we believe brings us happiness.

Retreated glacier showing significant ice loss and exposed rock
Glacier in its natural state with abundant ice and snow

The loss of glaciers disrupts freshwater sources for millions and threatens species that rely on cold, glacial habitats.

Normal river levels with healthy vegetation along banks

Flooding destroys homes, infrastructure, and farmland, displaces communities, and causes loss of life. It spreads diseases, disrupts economies, and worsens climate change effects.
