When I first read the book "Climate within" by Acharya Ji, it blew my mind and gave a new perspective to look at climate change. How spirituality is the only solution to handle climate change. THE LUST FOR DEVELOPMENT WHICH IS SYNONYMS TO DESTRUCTION HAS COMPLETELY BLINDED US 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ The recent news from Uttarakhand, that the govt. even after the Supreme Court committee disapproval gave approval for the Netala bypass, which falls in the fragile Bhagirathi Eco-Sensitive Zone. SOME IMP. INFO. 1. The bypass project require the felling of about 2,750 trees 😱😱 in untouched forests. 2.In 2020, the High Powered Committee appointed by Supreme Court recommended dropping the bypass on ecological and social grounds. 3. Soon after Dharali disaster, members of the High Powered Committee called for dropping the Netala bypass because the bypass is proposed through pristine forest that is grown on landslide deposits which are incised by rainfed streams. If the road is dug through these deposits, it is likely to suffer from slope instability and subsidence because the road would also have to negotiate multiple streams. Uttarakhand has not yet recovered from the wonds of Kedarnath and Dharali tragedy, we all are aware about the verunabilities of our hilly areas specially the States of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir to climate change due to their geography. Everyday other day we hear and see news of landslides, cloudbrust from different parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. Namaste Acharya Ji, Today has been a historic day. Today, inspired by your guidance, the Bodh Bhumi team organized a Climate Awareness Campaign in three government schools of Koderma district. Hundreds of children were explained the concepts of global warming, environmental crisis, and the true root of consumerism in simple words. We explained that deforestation, plastic pollution, vehicle emissions — these are merely symptoms; the real disease is human ignorance and a consumerist mindset. And in the end, we stated with complete clarity that if there is one solution in this era, it is — the path of self-realization you have shown us. The children listened attentively, asked many questions, and in every answer we conveyed only the truth that comes from your teachings. For us, this was not just an event; it was a small effort to carry forward your revolution.

🚨Operation 2030 India Gate Observation: Amid Sun, Rain, and Climate Apathy, a Ray of Hope June 1, 2025, Sunday — It was 3:30 PM and the location was the heart of Delhi, India Gate. All of us — volunteers from Acharya Ji’s bookstall — arrived with books in our hands, posters on climate change, and a resolution in our hearts: to take “Operation 2030” to every person. But both the weather and the mood had other plans. The sun blazed as if it wanted to unleash all its fury on this particular Sunday. We sweated so much that it felt like we were physically experiencing the meltdown caused by climate change. Our phone screens got wet so many times that someone might have thought we were testing monsoon conditions in summer. We had invited fellow bookstall volunteers from across Delhi so we could talk to people together — but before any crowd could gather, the weather changed our meeting agenda entirely. After 4 PM, strong winds blew followed by rain… not like in Bollywood movies. This rain was a warning — “Get ready; the weather is no longer yours.” Eventually, a guard removed the barricade at the underpass and we all moved there. Around 200 people were gathered — some drenched, some anxious, most unaware. When we tried to speak with them, most stepped away — as if we were selling insurance policies instead of talking about the environment. “Climate change? What’s that?” — This question was common; answers were rare. But then we met a couple from Sweden who told us that the 1.5-degree temperature threshold has already been crossed and their country is trembling under its impact. After the rain stopped, we reached Kartavya Path — where there was a scent of transformation in the wet earth but still silence among people. Even so, some showed interest, some took books, and perhaps for some it was their first time hearing about climate change — and such small beginnings are what spark real revolutions. Operation 2030 is not an NGO project; it is a responsibility — for that generation which is currently in school and for that farmer whose field may dry up next summer. That’s why this bookstall isn’t just about selling books; it's a torchbearer of an idea — one that must reach every hand before nature continues to pour down on our heads while we keep running… toward another underpass. ⚠️ We humans have already destroyed the Earth due to our selfish interests. Now, we justify this by claiming that we are the most superior in nature, and that all other animals, birds, water bodies, oceans, and mountains exist for us — to be used however we wish. We are now witnessing the consequences of this mindset in the form of climate change. ➡️ But wait — let’s take a look at one more demand arising from our desires and consumption-driven mindset: 👉 The mining of rare minerals such as nickel, zinc, manganese, molybdenum, and rare earth elements is no longer planned on land but in the ocean. This has been proposed for developing countries. Let’s take a look. According to this report from DOWN TO EARTH: Deep-sea mining promises access to critical minerals needed for energy transition without the problems associated with land-based mining. It also promises financial gains for developing countries. However, evidence suggests these promises are false and that mining will harm the environment. This practice involves lifting rock-like objects — nodules — from vast areas of the seafloor. These potato-sized nodules contain metals and minerals like zinc, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, and rare earth elements. While deep-sea mining technology exists today, commercial deep-sea mining is not yet happening anywhere in the world. That could soon change. A meeting this month in Kingston, Jamaica aims to agree on a Mining Code — a code that could pave the way for mining to begin within a few years. On Thursday, Australia’s national science agency CSIRO released research providing information about the environmental impacts of deep-sea mining. The goal is to promote better environmental management if such mining proceeds. We have previously challenged this argument for deep-sea mining using our expertise in international politics and environmental management. Our argument is that deep-sea mining is harmful and its economic benefits are exaggerated. Moreover, the metals and minerals being mined are not truly rare. The best solution would be an international ban on seabed mining — a moratorium supported by an alliance. Environmental Damage Management & Monitoring: Recent technological advances have made deep-sea mining more feasible. However, removing nodules — which also requires pumping water — damages the seafloor and endangers marine life. CSIRO has developed the first environmental management and monitoring framework aimed at protecting deep-sea ecosystems from mining impacts. Its goal is to provide “reliable science-based tools” to assess environmental risks and feasibility of deep-sea mining. Scientists from Griffith University, Museum Victoria, Sunshine Coast University and GNS Science New Zealand were also involved in this work. The research was initiated by Metals Company Australia — a local subsidiary of a Canadian deep-sea exploration company. It included analysis of data collected during test-mining conducted by the company in 2022 in the Pacific Ocean. The company has led efforts to accelerate deep-sea mining by pushing for a Mining Code and seeking approval for commercial operations on international seabeds from governments including that of the United States. In a media briefing this week, CSIRO senior principal research scientist Dr Piers Dunstan said that “mining activity had significantly impacted” parts of the seafloor. Some marine life associated with nodules had very little chance of recovery if disturbed again during future operations. He emphasized that monitoring would be crucial if such activities continue.
