Swagger is not limited to obvious displays of power. It can also hide within inherited beliefs. When a belief comes from someone society considers revered, it gains borrowed authority. Others then repeat and certify the same belief, creating the illusion that its truth has been established. The belief becomes harder to question not because it has been examined, but because it has been socially approved.
