Not only in personal life or society setup. This happens a lot in professional life specially in corporate. The entire chain from a junior employee to leadership, judge the way a woman employee behaves. If a male colleague at the same level shows command- he’s listened to, followed & called confident, while a woman is called bossy, irritating. How to break this pattern and still continue to grow in your career?
Deepali, look at the shape of the question itself: how to break this pattern and still continue to grow. Both halves are pointed outward, at the corporate chain and its double standard, which is real. But notice neither half asks what happens inside you the moment you're called bossy instead of confident. That sting, the need to prove them wrong, to be seen as commanding without the label, is exactly the same currency the good girl trades in, just flipped from approval to vindication. Still an audience. Still a verdict you're waiting on. The pattern won't break by managing how the room reads you. It loosens the day being seen as bossy costs you nothing, because you were never doing it for the reading in the first place.
