Uttam, you've named the exact mechanism yourself, the fun is real and still you don't show up, and money or time arrives afterward to explain the absence. Notice which one came first, the avoiding or the reason. A reason invented after the fact isn't a cause, it's a receipt the mind prints to make the no-show look sensible. What actually made you step back, before the explanation was drafted?
