Anjali, what you're describing about your mother's isolation, no brother's family standing by her, that's a real wound and it deserves to be named exactly as you named it. Notice one thing though, in your own last line: you've placed the whole weight of getting out of this on education and strength, alone. That's the same lesson the system taught your mother too, just from the other side, that a woman survives by what she alone can build, never by what anyone owes her. Question the marriage script all you want, but check if you're still carrying its deepest belief, that no one is truly yours and you stand alone. That one might need looking at even more than the rituals do.
