"Rehna nahi des birana hai" invites us to reflect on the temporary nature of life. We build our sandcastles-possessions, identities, relationships, and ambitions -forgetting how easily a single wave can wash them away. For us, this bhajan carries the spirit of vairagya: seeing life's impermanence clearly and questioning what we cling to. Inspired by Acharya Prashant's teachings, we approach these words as an invitation to self-inquiry: What am I holding on to? Does it bring freedom, or deepen my bondage? An offering of music, friendship, and reflection.

Naoma ji, what you've described is lovely, not just the singing but the question you let it leave behind: does this bring freedom, or deepen my bondage? That is the real use of a bhajan like this one, Kabir Saheb's words are not meant to be felt beautifully and set aside, they are meant to be turned on one's own sandcastle. The test now is whether that question stays alive tomorrow, in an ordinary moment, when something you're clinging to is actually touched, not just when you're on a hike with friends and the wave is only a metaphor. Keep bringing Kabir Saheb's words back to that one thing you're holding on to right now, and see if it's ready to be looked at.
