Description

Acharya Prashant explains that technology is a tool, and its use, whether for destruction or protection, depends on a correct spiritual mindset. Currently, technology is largely being used for destruction, which the world mistakenly calls progress, growth, or development. This destructive 'development' is profitable; for instance, a builder profits by cutting down a forest to create commercial space. The challenge is not technological but psychological. We need people who will use technology for protection without being driven by personal profit, as such work is often not financially rewarding. The speaker points out that people are deluded by the apparent gains from their work, such as a high salary or CTC (Cost to Company), without calculating the true 'cost of earning'. They fail to account for the expenses incurred to sustain their jobs and lifestyles, including time, health, and peace of mind. He illustrates this with the example of Zomato delivery boys who are happy with their earnings but do not factor in the costs of fuel, bike maintenance, and health, which significantly reduce their actual take-home income. Similarly, someone with a high salary might be burdened with so much debt and expenses that their real financial standing is poor. Acharya Prashant asserts that good spirituality is good economics. Without a spiritual understanding, a person is looted at every step of life, both internally and financially. He further addresses the desire for anti-aging technology, calling it a form of foolishness. He explains that human life, with all its relationships and actions, is defined by the shadow of mortality. If one were to become immortal, life as we know it would cease to exist and become something terrible, making one wish for death. This desire for immortality stems from a misunderstanding of life itself.
