At NIT Goa, a student asked Acharya Prashant why competition never seems to end ā JEE, grades, placements, one race after another. His answer: there are two kinds of competition. One where you're constantly comparing yourself to others, and your happiness depends on their pace. And one where you're simply racing yourself ā doing the work because you love it, with results as a bonus, not the point. He shares real stories ā JEE toppers surprised by their own rank, and someone who admitted wasting hours daily just to sabotage a rival ā to show what real excellence looks like, and why it rarely comes from watching the scoreboard.
