Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the day you are fully convinced that nothing from this body goes forward after death, it will have two effects on you. Firstly, you will learn to live life correctly. You will clearly hear the ticking of the clock and the sound of approaching death. You will see that this instrument you call your body is constantly moving towards its end. This realization will make you start living life correctly. The second effect is that you will no longer be afraid to go to the cremation ground at night. The reason people are afraid of going to the cremation ground at night is that they have a lingering doubt that something remains after death, and that this remnant wanders in the cremation ground. If you were completely sure that nothing of you remains after death, you would not be afraid. But everyone is afraid because they have not clearly understood that they are merely a wave of nature; once the wave is gone, it is gone, with no trace left. You think something will remain, which gives you the hope that something of you will also survive. When there is hope for the future, who will bother to make today beautiful, to improve it, and make it successful? There is a deep connection between living a wrong life and believing in ghosts, spirits, black magic, and the occult. The day you start living correctly, a consequence will be that your belief in the occult will completely vanish, and you will start laughing at it. Living a wrong life is evidenced by wearing many rings, necklaces, and getting caught up in stones, amulets, and various beads. We are afraid because we are distant from the truth, and because we are afraid, it is very easy to scare us. The punishment for being distant from the truth is that you get caught up in all these things—vibrations, energies, wearing certain rings or stones, drinking specific water, and all such remedies. Clever merchants will then come and exploit you; this is the punishment for our ignorance.
