Acharya Prashant explains that when a husband is a "lion outside the house" and a "meek sheep within," it is because the husband has been a cheat and carries a guilty conscience. This guilt prevents him from facing his wife, and when one cannot face another, hatred and violence arise, which can lead to abuse and assault. The speaker states that the relationship itself was founded on a fraud. The husband has been a cheat because the story on the wife's side is not very different, but the focus here is on the husband as per the question. The fraud begins with how the relationship starts. The man's attraction to the woman is described as 70 to 80 percent physical and only slightly emotional. In contrast, the woman's attraction is primarily emotional and only slightly physical. When the man says, "I love you," he is essentially asking, "When can we get into bed?" When the woman says, "I love you," she is asking, "When can we get married?" They use the same words but are saying very different things. The man is deceiving the woman, while the woman is not deceiving so much and is more morally upright in her internal calculations. The speaker elaborates that the man knows what the woman is expecting because he has seen his mother and understands her emotional side. Therefore, the man knows the woman's emotionality. However, the woman has never seen the sexual side of her father, so she does not really know a man's sexuality. The woman takes the man almost as a kind of male friend, a "male sakhi," and has found a companion. But the man knows the girlfriend means a "nice, consumable body." The man is deceiving her, and he marries with some reluctance, not because he wants to confine himself to a nest, but so he can "peacefully consume." After the wedding, the woman has many expectations for a future life together. The man, however, had never really signed up to meet those expectations, and he cannot fulfill them because his heart is not in it; his heart is only in the bed. Slowly, it becomes apparent that the man has defrauded the woman. Consequently, he has to act like a guilty thief in his own house. This is why, even if he is the president of the world outside, in his own house, he just keeps bleating like a goat. This is the nature of the relationship and the nature of the bodies involved.
