This participation is a transaction, not just one-sided exploitation. In exchange for being 'exploited,' women receive certain comforts and securities. The speaker clarifies that these 'goods' received in the patriarchal transaction are not just material things like money or gold, but also emotional security, the feeling of having a caretaker, and a protector. To attain liberation, one must give up the greed for these comforts. Once this greed is gone, no one can exploit you. He dismisses the argument that raising the marriage age for women will increase rape cases, calling the logic incomprehensible and pointing out that most rapes are marital rapes, committed by husbands.
