Acharya Prashant explains that complaints in the context of devotion, as seen in the verses of Baba Bulleh Shah, are not a learned behavior or a fashion but a natural outcome of deep intimacy. When a devotee feels that the beloved is distant despite being close, a complaint arises. This intimacy grants the devotee the right to be informal, to argue, or even to playfully punish the deity, as there is no longer any formality or hidden thought between them. However, he cautions that this right belongs only to those who have completely surrendered their own ego and rights to the Divine. Only when one is entirely exposed and transparent before the Divine does the right to complain manifest.
