Acharya Prashant explains the distinction between the conscious and subconscious mind, noting that desires exist in both. While conscious desires are often direct and honest, subconscious desires frequently manifest under false pretenses or pseudonyms because they have been suppressed due to social values or morality. He illustrates this with the example of visiting a friend to recover a debt; instead of being direct, one might pretend to visit out of affection to avoid the social stigma of prioritizing money over friendship. He emphasizes that suppression creates a burden, and subconscious power is akin to the destructive power of a disease or fever rather than a constructive force.
