Description

In response to a man's experience with dating in India, Acharya Prashant questions whether the man is disturbed by the woman's actions or by himself. He critiques a form of empowerment that happily accepts dependence on somebody else's money, both on a date and for an entire lifetime. He suggests that the man was not acting as a man but as a "script," and that the possibility of love opens up only outside the script. Acharya Prashant explains that sex is one of the strongest drives and energies in our lives, and as such, it represents our values. The person you choose to bare your body to is the person that best reflects what you value in life. He contrasts the fleeting nature of sexual pleasure, which he says is not long-lasting and leaves you with the need to get a shower and a stained bedsheet, with spending a day with the right person, which can leave you with something that might last your lifetime. He posits that true love always involves three: "You, me, and the sky." He points out that when you use your degree, your pomp, and your money, you are almost trying to buy sex for the night. This is described as using a human being's body, a woman's body, to satiate your lust. He contrasts this approach, which sounds like work, with love, which sounds like fun. Regarding marriage, he questions what one has seen in another person that is worth a long-term commitment. He suggests that to avoid being ashamed of what we have done, we say that "marriages are made in heaven."
