Acharya Prashant addresses the dilemma of an individual who feels helpless in preventing the misuse of family resources because she did not earn the money herself. He explains that this sense of powerlessness stems from a selective sense of ownership. If one claims a relationship with the person spending the money and the person for whom it is spent, then logically, one must also claim responsibility for the money itself. He advises that one should either assert full authority over the situation to prevent wrongdoing or detach completely from the entire structure of relationships and resources. Partial attachment leads to suffering and an inability to act against what is unrighteous.
