Description

Acharya Prashant explains that there are traditionally two paths for transformation based on different mentalities. The first is the path of knowledge (Jnana Marg), where an individual observes the worthlessness and suffering in their immediate surroundings and inner self, leading to a sense of detachment and the cry of 'Neti-Neti' (not this, not this). This path is suited for those with an investigative, scientific, and curious temperament who evaluate whether things are essential or non-essential. The second is the path of love (Bhakti Marg), where the seeker is drawn by the attraction of something distant and beautiful, like a twinkling star or the moon, making the immediate surroundings seem insignificant. This path is for those driven by emotion, melody, and aesthetic beauty. While the starting points differ—one driven by repulsion from the trivial and the other by attraction to the infinite—both ultimately lead to the same destination.
