Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the rise of AI and automation is an unstoppable consequence of corporate profit-seeking and inherent human self-interest. He asserts that corporations do not exist for social welfare but for the personal gain, status, and eventual profitable exit of their owners. As technology replaces human labor, jobs will decrease, leading to a future where wealth is heavily concentrated in the hands of a tiny elite. To prevent social revolution and maintain a consumer base for their products, the wealthy and the state will provide the masses with basic sustenance through freebies and subsidies. He highlights a stark contrast in society where people are nutritionally deficient but kept data sufficient with cheap entertainment, social media, and distractions like politics and religion to prevent them from focusing on their exploitation. Furthermore, he points out that the top one percent is responsible for the majority of carbon emissions and the resulting climate crisis, while the poor are the ones who will suffer the consequences. He concludes that while external technology has advanced rapidly, internal self-knowledge has lagged, leaving humans as primitive beings with powerful technological tools. The only solution is to cultivate awareness and understand how the masses are being manipulated and distracted from the real issues of income inequality and exploitation.
