Acharya Prashant responds to a question about why he is on TikTok, a platform known for frivolous content. He states that the very frivolousness dominating the platform is precisely why he is there. He acknowledges his presence on other platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook, noting the foundation is strongest on YouTube. Regarding TikTok, he explains that as management students, one must begin with the facts: it is the fastest-growing social media platform, and the people, especially young people, are there. He emphasizes that these young people are the ones who will be on this planet for the longest time and are not yet heavily conditioned or closed, which is why he must address them. He further elaborates that the youth are so vulnerable and gullible that any passing fad can sweep them away. Because of this vulnerability, he feels compelled to talk to them. He poses the question that if they are to be carried away by someone, why shouldn't it be him, as he is convinced of the sincerity of his mission? He also finds the one-minute clip format of TikTok to be pretty useful, handy, and well-suited for the content he wishes to communicate. He argues that if one is truly a missionary, one cannot always try to keep their hands clean and must necessarily venture into places that are murky. In fact, it is because these places are murky that one must go there. He relates this to his own life, questioning why he would have quit the corporate route if he had wanted to play it safe and keep himself clean. He concludes that spirituality is not about remaining "squeaky clean." A truly spiritual person, he asserts, should obviously be found in the dirtiest of places. He uses the analogy of a cleaning machine, which has no business being in a place that is already clean.
