Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the tendency to choose the easier path stems from a conviction that one does not deserve anything beyond a certain point. He states that the higher things in life, both internal and external, require a price to be paid, involving toil and facing difficulties. However, a person will not be willing to pay this price if their environment has convinced them that they do not deserve to reach the top. This belief leads to settling for an intermediate goal and taking the shortest, most economical route. When you know who you truly are and recognize that your potential is unlimited, self-love arises. This self-love prevents you from depriving yourself of what you deserve and makes you willing to pay any price, refusing to settle for mediocrity. Acharya Prashant points out that a mediocre society often turns its children into mediocre products through conditioning, teaching them to stay within their limits. This societal influence causes a drop in self-love, as there is something within everyone that can only fall in love with absolute excellence. This absolute, also called Truth, Liberation, or God, is one's own personal possibility. Refusing this highest possibility leads to self-hate, which is reflected in self-harming behaviors like smoking, laziness, or staying in abusive relationships. When you deny your potential, you become guilty in your own eyes and cannot love yourself. Consequently, if you don't love yourself, you won't give yourself the best and will settle for a mediocre life. The speaker advises choosing one's company with great discretion, preferring those who ruthlessly push for betterment and expose shortcomings over those who bring you down. He concludes by emphasizing the need to remember two things simultaneously: to honestly admit one's current weaknesses and falls, and to always remember that every human is born for greatness. Greatness is our destiny. Life is meant for the highest, and anything less is equivalent to death. Therefore, one should not allow anyone, including one's own thoughts, to dominate them or make them believe they are a weakling.
