Description

Acharya Prashant explains that living in stories or fantasies is essentially a conversation with oneself based on the negation of facts. He points out that every element in a story or fantasy is derived from objects or experiences already present in the universe, but these elements are deliberately distorted. To break free from these illusions, one must check the underlying facts. For instance, a fantasy about a person or a situation can be immediately punctured by inquiring into the actual reality of that person or situation. He observes that those who love to daydream strictly avoid checking facts because the truth would devastate their imaginary world. To stay clear of illusions, Acharya Prashant advises maintaining a deep awareness of one's own body, capabilities, and intentions, as well as staying informed about the world, community, and the universe. He concludes that a mind lacking in factual knowledge is highly susceptible to imagination.
