Acharya Prashant explains that while external actions inevitably require effort, true effortlessness belongs to the internal state of a peaceful mind. He clarifies that an agitated mind acts out of a desire to gain or accumulate, whereas a tranquil mind acts to cleanse and remove unnecessary mental clutter. He emphasizes that external stimuli act as seeds, but they only grow into complex thoughts if the mind provides the fertile ground of existing conditioning and tendencies. Therefore, the responsibility for mental conflict lies within one's own internal state rather than external triggers.
