Description

Acharya Prashant explains that attraction to women is not inherently wrong, but the quality of that attraction depends on the nature of the woman one chooses to focus on. He suggests that if one must be attracted to a woman, they should choose someone of high spiritual or intellectual stature, such as Mira Bai, Durga, or Lalleshwari. He points out that Mira Bai chose Shri Krishna because she would not settle for anyone less than the Divine. The speaker emphasizes that a person becomes like the object of their attraction; therefore, choosing an enlightened or great woman can transform one's life. However, many avoid such women because their own pettiness cannot be maintained in the presence of greatness. The speaker argues that what is often called attraction to women is actually just an obsession with physical flesh. He compares this mindset to that of a carnivorous animal that sees only meat, regardless of the dignity or divinity of the person. He mentions several influential women from history, science, and sports—such as Madame Curie, Joan of Arc, and Serena Williams—noting that people rarely feel attracted to them because these women do not present themselves as mere physical objects. He explains that if a person identifies only as a body, they will perceive everyone else only as a body, leading to a life centered entirely on lust and physical desire. To overcome this physical obsession, Acharya Prashant advises individuals to rise above their own bodily identification. He uses examples like pilots or doctors who see each other as professionals rather than gendered bodies. He suggests becoming a seeker of virtues rather than a seeker of flesh. If a relationship is based on a shared appreciation for qualities like courage or intelligence, it transcends mere lust. By elevating one's own perspective and identity, the way one views the world and the opposite gender will naturally transform from a carnal perspective to one based on respect and virtue.
