The speaker addresses the ethical and factual realities of the dairy industry, debunking the myth that cows naturally produce excess milk for human consumption. She explains that modern high-yield cows are the result of centuries of selective breeding, or 'trait selection,' which forces their bodies to convert nutrients into unnatural quantities of milk. This process is physically taxing, often leading to premature death from calcium depletion or uterine prolapse. The speaker emphasizes that in nature, a mammal produces only enough milk for its own offspring, and the surplus seen today is an artificial human creation that causes immense suffering to the animal.
