Acharya Prashant explains that there are two types of slavery. The first is direct slavery, where someone openly commands another to act. This form is easily recognizable and often resisted because people naturally dislike being dominated. The second, more dangerous form is indirect slavery, where external influences are planted so deeply within a person's mind that they mistake these influences for their own desires. He uses the analogy of a manufacturer who influences a consumer to believe they want a product, leading the consumer to defend their choice as an expression of personal freedom.
