We know emissions are rising, temperatures are breaking records, and the window for action is narrowing. But do we really understand what is driving the human activity behind it? At the London School of Economics, during London Climate Action Week, Acharya Prashant examines the climate crisis through a question that goes deeper than carbon emissions, technology, or policy: what is happening within the human being who keeps demanding more from the planet? The discussion explores consumption, inner emptiness, the ego, education, technology, policy, institutions, and the possibility of addressing the climate crisis through a deeper understanding of ourselves. The conversation questions whether green technologies and better policies, necessary as they are, can be sufficient when the underlying desire for endless consumption remains unchanged. It examines how education can produce highly knowledgeable and efficient professionals while leaving the inner dimension of the human being largely unexplored, and why mass education of the self may be essential to changing the direction of our civilization. Key Themes: The human mind behind the climate crisis Consumption, inner emptiness, and environmental destruction Why technology and policy alone may not be enough ➖➖➖➖➖➖ 🎧 Listen to #AcharyaPrashant on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3f0KFweIdHB0vfcoizFcET?si=c8f9a6ba31964a06 Music Credits: Milind Date
