Description

Acharya Prashant explains that human attraction generally falls into two categories, both of which often prevent intelligent inquiry. In the first case, something appears so spectacular and eye-catching that it totally occupies the mind, leaving no space for the individual to ask if the object is truly important or what it will provide in the long term. This state of being overwhelmed by pleasure makes the mind dumb and incapable of questioning the reality of the attraction. In the second case, something appears so unattractive or unexciting on the surface that it is immediately ignored or dismissed. Because the individual has already decided the matter is closed, they again fail to ask any meaningful questions about the object's potential value.
