Acharya Prashant explains that the conscious, semi-conscious, and unconscious minds are not separate entities but parts of a single whole, much like different areas of a house. He compares the conscious mind to a living room or kitchen that is always visible and in use. The semi-conscious mind is likened to a trunk or storage box where items are kept out of sight but remain in memory. The unconscious mind is described as a dark basement or warehouse where things are stored and forgotten; one must actively enter with light and effort to rediscover what lies there. He emphasizes that these divisions are merely functional and that everything stored within the mind, even if forgotten, remains there because of an underlying attachment or utility.
