Acharya Prashant explains that animals give far less importance to sex than human beings do. This is because animals do not have the need to use sex as a proxy for their other unmet desires, as they do not have too many desires to begin with. Therefore, they don't have to cover up for their unfulfilled desires. In contrast, man has too many desires, all stemming from one principal unfulfilled desire. Because of these numerous desires, man has to somehow give himself passing marks. When a man is failing everywhere—in the office, in his bets, in his relationships—he seeks to succeed at least in one place. He succeeds in the genital domain. The entire day, the man has been an abject failure everywhere, and he has colossal desires within him, all with hungry mouths wide open, asking for food that he cannot provide. To maintain his self-esteem, at the end of the day, he has to answer to himself if there has been any fulfillment. When he finds none, he says, "If I couldn't make my way into anything, there is at least one place I can penetrate and declare myself a winner." This is why lustfulness is much more prevalent in human beings than in any animal. This dynamic is part of a social order born out of ignorance, which victimizes both men and women. Anything born of ignorance will not be good for anybody. Something that is poisonous cannot be medicine for one of the genders. Both men and women are fellow sufferers, each suffering in their own particular, personal ways. Men have lured women to places where they fulfill men's appetites. If a woman is getting appreciation and respect from men for her glamorous pictures, she will not come to a spiritual channel where she would be disrobed and even scolded. It is the men who give them that appreciation. So, if there are fewer women on a spiritual channel, both men and women are responsible. The women have been lured away to places where men want them to be, places where they fulfill men's appetites. Historically, man has had the upper hand, and now women want to have the upper hand or at least an equal status. However, they are still asking for this status on the same plane, the normal dualistic plane, without rising above it. This is an internal conspiracy against the real thing that needs to be done. Women do not need to match men or be equal to men, as men themselves are in a horrible place. One should not take their sicknesses upon oneself. The lives of men are hardly the kind of stuff any human being should aspire for. A woman would not gain anything by placing herself equal to men.
