Starting from the most obvious examples, attraction based on looks, financial status, caste compatibility, or possessive pet-parent behaviour, the distinction is drawn sharply: none of that is love. What love actually is turns out to be far simpler and far less glamorous: a quality of relating that is free of self-interest, free of ignorance, and free of exploitation. It is not directed at a special someone, it is a general orientation, like sunlight or rain, that does not discriminate. The ego, by contrast, is an insecure trader that enters every relationship with people, objects, institutions to barter for a sense of completeness it can never actually achieve. Marriage is examined as an institution built on legal, religious, and social obligation rather than love a mechanism to bind and possess rather than to freely walk together. ➖➖➖➖➖➖ 🎧 Listen to #AcharyaPrashant on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3f0KFwe...
