Description

Acharya Prashant explains that technology is essentially a slave to human beings, functioning like a dog on a leash. While science and self-knowledge are necessary for human improvement and upward progress, technology alone can be extremely dangerous. He warns that technology in the hands of an unwise population will prove disastrous for the entire planet and lead to the self-destruction of the human species. He uses the analogy of a monkey with a sword to illustrate that while humans remain inwardly primitive, technology has provided them with immense power, such as intercontinental missiles, which they cannot responsibly wield. For technology to be constructive, the growth of wisdom must keep pace with technological advancement. Currently, the rate of growth in wisdom lags far behind, leading to environmental ruin and the sixth mass extinction. He concludes that without spiritual growth and wisdom, our economic and technical power is being used to destroy the planet.
