The fantasy disappears once you come close to the reality. If you start living with someone, you will find that the urge for sex and similar things has actually diminished. When a mental separation is maintained, the other person circulates in your thoughts. To truly know what a man or a woman is, is to see the perpetual sexual urge diminish. Knowing sanctifies everything. The urge would then not be that of a depraved monster. Even if you have sex after that, it would have a different quality, a different fragrance. Mostly, the quality of our sexual encounters is that of rape and exploitation. He quotes Kabir Saheb, who said that while every animal has a designated mating period, the lustful man is like a dog for all six seasons and twelve months. Man is the only creature that is sexually active the entire year round because we do not know what we are doing and never have enough. Saints and prophets have also been in sexual liaisons and had wives, but theirs is a sanctified sex. They don't rape or consume; when they touch the other, even sexually, it is a healing touch. When you are in the Truth and not afraid, every action, every breath, is a healing action that cures the world because you yourself are a healed entity. Your sex heals your partner. There is another kind of sex that just hurts and bleeds the partner. Being attracted to the opposite sex is not a problem, but bleeding anybody is a problem. You are violent towards the other only when you have first been violent towards yourself. The ego is the fundamental violence towards yourself and the world. Until you are a man, women will always remain a problem for you, and vice-versa.
