The cultural glorification of motherhood and fertility is rooted in ancient survival needs like population growth and warfare, not in any genuine concern for women's wellbeing. He argues that pregnancy and childbirth are mechanical biological functions, and just as modern technology has replaced human muscle in labour and transport, science should take over the process of conception and childbirth as well. A woman's true role, in his view, is to nurture the consciousness of the child through education and wisdom, not to bear the physical burden of pregnancy.
