To be born is to set the clock ticking and to depart from the holy garden of bliss. He interprets the tasting of the forbidden fruit as the act of letting worldly knowledge enter one's being. Once knowledge is taken in and becomes part of one's identity, innocence is lost. This identification with knowledge and the world creates a personal being that is separate from the pure being of God, leading to shame and a sense of limitation.
