Acharya Prashant explains Rumi's poem as a description of the journey of consciousness, moving from the rudimentary awareness of minerals and plants to the higher emotional spectrum of animals. He notes that animals exhibit a basic sense of order and justice, which marks the beginning of the realization of righteousness. Man, however, stands at a junction with the unique choice to either follow the truth or prioritize personal desires. While following the right path leads to rewards and bliss, Acharya Prashant clarifies that this state of being an 'angel soul' or 'Devta' is still a form of confinement because it involves attachment to pleasure and the rewards of right living.
