Acharya Prashant explains that the longing for childhood arises because one is deeply dissatisfied and troubled by their current life. People try to escape their present misery by retreating into memories of the past or fantasies of the future. However, he clarifies that childhood is not a true refuge because the seeds of all current suffering and desires, such as lust, were already present in the child, albeit in a hidden form. Returning to childhood would only lead back to the same eventual suffering, much like running on a treadmill and ending up in the same place.
