Why? || Acharya Prashant, Goa (2025) Context: - In this video, Acharya Ji explains that the violence women face most often comes not from strangers but from the very people they trust and love, such as fathers, brothers, and husbands. Using the Gurugram case as a starting point, he argues that such explosions of violence are never sudden; the danger is always present beneath the surface, held back only by circumstance. Families support a daughter's growth only up to a certain invisible boundary, and the moment she tries to cross it, the hidden violence surfaces. What society calls love is frequently a control mechanism disguised as care and protection. He points out that a very large proportion of women murdered worldwide are killed by someone from their intimate circle, which is a pattern that does not apply to men in the same way. He urges women to stop accepting the deal where they surrender their freedom in exchange for security and goodies, because that deal always ends badly. Emotions, he cautions, are not a reliable guide to truth as they are biologically driven and can be manipulated from outside, making women vulnerable to staying in dangerous arrangements while believing they are loved.
