Acharya Prashant emphasizes that the mind never wins on its own; rather, it is the individual who makes the decision. He asserts that the struggle is not between the mind and the soul, but is a choice made by the ego to align with either tendencies or the truth. He insists that individuals must take full responsibility for their choices, as consciousness itself implies the act of choosing. Being conscious means one is always in a state of semi-consciousness, similar to a person waking up at 5:00 AM who must decide whether to turn off the alarm and go back to sleep or to get out of bed. This decision determines whether one falls back into deep sleep or wakes up fully. He further explains that even in a state of illness, the choice to follow a regimen or take medicine determines the outcome of health. Most people fail to recognize that they are making choices, often claiming to be puppets or machines. Acharya Prashant argues that if one were truly a machine, there would be no place for spiritual discourse. By being present, one acknowledges that everything happening is with their consent. He warns against the spiritual lie of claiming helplessness or compulsion, stating that even the claim of being 'forced' is a calculated choice. True strength and the possibility of change only arise when one accepts that they are the sole person responsible for their actions and their current state.
