Acharya Prashant addresses the lack of excellence in Indian society across various fields like architecture, technology, sports, and defense. He explains that while Western nations focused on the material world as the only reality and achieved excellence, India suffered from a misunderstanding of its spiritual heritage. Great sages taught that the world is 'Mithya' (illusory) to prevent people from becoming enslaved by it, but the masses misinterpreted this as an excuse for laziness and mediocrity. This distorted philosophy led to a disregard for the physical body and the material world, resulting in poor health, lack of hygiene, and a 'jugaad' (makeshift) mentality that opposes true excellence.
