Description

Acharya Prashant explains that what is commonly referred to as talent is merely a social construct and a concept created by humans. He points out that a skill valued in one country, such as cricket in India, may not be considered a talent in another country like Brazil, where football is prioritized. Society labels only those abilities as talent that are useful to it or aligned with its cultural preferences. Therefore, one should not worry about whether they possess talent according to societal standards. Instead, he emphasizes that true talent lies in doing whatever one does with total immersion and completeness. Whether it is playing a flute or flying a kite, the act should be performed with such focus that everything else is forgotten. He argues that if talent were limited to specific skills practiced for a few hours, a person would be talentless for the rest of the day. Ultimately, he asserts that the only real talent is living life with total awareness and attention, as all other labels of talent are merely external stamps of approval.
