Acharya Prashant explains that religious teachings consist of two parts: the temporal aspect and the timeless aspect. The temporal aspect contains instructions relevant only to a specific time, place, and context, much like history. While interesting to study, these instructions should not be lived out in the present day as they are no longer applicable. In contrast, the timeless aspect is eternally relevant and beneficial, transcending time and space. He emphasizes that seekers should focus on this timeless essence, which in the Vedas is represented by the Upanishads, also known as Vedanta. He describes the Upanishads as the 'diamond on the forehead of the Vedas' and the essential medicine for the spiritually ill, whereas other sections are like beautiful gardens for those who are already healthy.
