Description

Acharya Prashant explains that ignorance is universal and not the property of any specific group. He points out that reproduction is a purely biological process common to all species and does not automatically bestow special qualifications or wisdom upon parents. If parents themselves are filled with inner darkness, they inevitably pass that same darkness on to their children. While biological reproduction is simple, possessing the capability to be a true guide or teacher for a child is an entirely different matter. The common belief that parents are a child's first teachers often leads to the child being conditioned with the parents' own values, bondages, and prejudices, resulting in a mentally unhealthy individual. He further elaborates that this issue extends to the formal education system and teachers. True education is not merely about completing a syllabus or learning about external subjects like mathematics, science, or history. Current education focuses entirely on external objects while neglecting the most important entity: the self. Because the systems were developed by those lacking self-awareness, they emphasize knowing the world but ignore the one who is experiencing it. Acharya Prashant concludes that instead of lamenting the past or the state of society, one should focus on the present moment. Real intelligence and understanding involve bringing oneself to the reality of the here and now, as that is where meaningful action and life truly exist.
