Description

Acharya Prashant explains that a living being is one who identifies solely with the physical body and believes their existence is defined by birth, life, and death. Because such a being considers themselves to be the body, they will do anything to satisfy bodily demands, including the slaughter of other beings. When one identifies as just a stomach, their only religion becomes the continuous supply of food, disregarding compassion, love, wisdom, sacrifice, or detachment. This identification with the body leads to the consumption of countless animals, birds, and insects for the sake of taste and nutrition. Acharya Prashant asserts that this body-centric consciousness is the root cause of all violence and unrighteousness. A person who is a slave to their body, unable to control hunger, thirst, lust, anger, or emotions, becomes a burden to themselves and the world, causing suffering to everyone.
