Description

Acharya Prashant explains that while society often tolerates corruption in mainstream political parties, it holds institutions aiming for reform to much higher expectations. He notes that since the urge to clean up society arises from within that same society, the cleanup process itself will inevitably contain some impurities and must be understood with patience. Drawing a historical parallel, he points out that India's colonization was the result of centuries of neglect in religious, cultural, and scientific domains, and thus, regaining full freedom is a long process that extends beyond mere political independence. He asserts that corruption is fundamentally a spiritual issue arising from a lack of proper spiritual foundation in common life. Because bad politics is a reflection of a corrupt collective mind, true reformation must encompass all spheres of human activity, including education, literature, and relationships. He concludes that while one must act with desperate vigor and zeal to accelerate change, one must also remain patient, recognizing that such a fundamental transformation of a people takes significant time.
