Acharya Prashant discusses the delicate balance of parenting, emphasizing that while physical safety for a child is necessary, excessive protection can hinder their growth and independence. He explains that social education and rules are intended to help humans transcend their animalistic instincts and find peace. However, he warns that if parents are not conscious, they may inadvertently impose more mental chains on the child rather than cutting existing ones. He uses the analogy of a protective fence around a sapling, which must be removed at the right time to prevent it from suffocating the plant. He suggests that as children mature, parents should replace simplified myths with factual understanding, such as explaining electricity instead of telling stories about mice in sockets.
