Acharya Prashant explains that the human mind is a combination of the brain and intelligence. While the brain is an accumulation of external influences like time, space, and knowledge, intelligence is an innate power that is not acquired from the outside. He illustrates this by comparing humans to a camera; while a camera can record and be operated by others, it lacks the internal power of understanding. He emphasizes that while we often thank external sources for providing knowledge or objects, we fail to acknowledge the source of our fundamental capacities like thinking, understanding, and loving.
