Description

Acharya Prashant narrates the life and spiritual journey of Lalla, also known as Lalleshwari or Lal Ded, a 14th-century mystic from Kashmir. He describes her early life in a household where she faced severe mistreatment for her refusal to eat meat, leading to a symbolic punishment where she was forced to eat stones. Eventually, Lalla renounced her domestic life and sought a spiritual master in the forest. When asked by her Guru what she desired, she replied that she wanted her 'husband,' referring not to her earthly spouse but to the divine beloved, often called the 'Sufi Piya.' Her dedication was so intense that she performed five times the spiritual practice prescribed by her Guru, even in the harsh Kashmiri winters.
