Acharya Prashant addresses a questioner who experienced a shift in family relationships after cutting her hair, revealing that people were attached to her physical appearance rather than her true self. He explains that seeking freedom from the fear of others' opinions is a profound and costly endeavor that requires time and patience. He likens the loss of superficial relationships to removing lice from hair; if a relationship ends because of a physical change, it was never a meaningful connection to begin with. He emphasizes that the world often relates to individuals, especially women, solely through their bodies, and this reality becomes evident when physical health or appearance declines.
