An extended conversation across the climate crisis, animal rights, consumerism and human consciousness.

Acharya Prashant recorded an extended podcast conversation with Poorva Joshipura of PETA International on 3 June, ranging across the climate crisis, animal rights, consumerism, education and human consciousness, and framing each through the question of what actually drives human behaviour.
The through-line of the conversation was that cruelty toward the environment and toward animals is not, in the first instance, a policy failure but a symptom. Its origin, Acharya Prashant argued, is the ignorance and ego seated within the human being, and any response that addresses only the outward behaviour while leaving that interior untouched will keep regenerating the harm. Lasting solutions to the world’s largest problems, he said, cannot come from policy and technology alone; they require self-knowledge and an education worthy of the name.
The exchange sits within a densely scheduled tour of Britain. Acharya Prashant opened at the University of Cambridge, and has since held his first London public session, on the Avadhuta Gita on 31 May, and addressed the UK India Youth Leadership Conclave 2026 on 1 June, both drawing large gatherings in person and an online audience exceeding one lakh.
