Just as subterranean chemical and thermal reactions continuously generate immense pressure deep within the Earth—building up an explosive force that proves exponentially more hazardous the longer it remains contained—a similar dynamic operates within the human psyche. Deep inside a person, complex thoughts, suppressed emotions, and unexamined impulses constantly churn.
